Nutrition

The lack of trace elements (hidden hunger) and vitamins poses a global health policy challenge, especially for vulnerable population groups.

Of interest are effective measures such as the enrichment (fortification and bio-fortification) of staple foods taking into account the technical challenges; the prevention and treatment of nutritional deficiencies; the diagnosis of deficiencies and the understanding of biological and physiological relationships (including bioavailability). This includes efforts to improve quantification and characterisation methods and the development of nutritionally focused approaches to the prevention and treatment of malnutrition.

For example, digital approaches to learning are also being tested and tested to promote health literacy and provide patients with reliable support on nutrition-relevant topics.
