Dr Egon Werlen receives an extraordinary professorship at the NWU

On 1 September 2022, Dr Egon Werlen, head of the research field "Emotions, Reading and Learning" at the Institute for Research in Open, Distance and eLearning (IFeL), was appointed Extraordinary Associate Professor at North-West University (NWU).

The NWU has been an important partner university of the FFHS since 2017. The two universities are working on joint research projects as part of the UNESCO Chair on Personalised and Adaptive Distance Education. Egon Werlen will execute his associate professorship in the Research Unit Self-Directed Learning in the Faculty of Education at the NWU. Besides this, the cooperation primarily consists of recruiting and carrying out joint research projects and joint publications. The associate professorship has been awarded for three years and can be extended thereafter.
